ROSA
I was accepted into UFC’s Pathways Transitional Living Program in September
of 2002 and received specialized services including advocacy counseling, life
skills training, academic support, and career guidance. While in the program,
I worked diligently to become a self-sufficient and independent adult, learning
how to balance education, work and a social life. I was hired by UFC as a full-time
receptionist and I am currently attending Los Angeles Trade Technical Community
College, majoring in Administrative Justice. I graduated from Pathways in January
2004 and I am now a participant in UFC’s Advanced Independence Training
Program (AIT). Without UFC I could not see myself achieving as much as I have
and am very thankful for the help and continuing support Pathways staff has
shown me.
ERINNE
UFC has been one of the most significant parts of my college career. The consistent
support, not only financially, but mentally in terms of my present and future
educational goals, is one of the major reasons why I am where I am today.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
UFC ADVOCACY COUNSELOR
UFC played a big role in my life during my first semester of college, paying
for my housing and helping to support me during a difficult time. I truly
believe that your wings get bigger when you have people behind you and UFC
was behind me every step of the way. One of the best decisions I made was
eventually joining the UFC staff as an Advocacy Counselor. I have never met
so many people that have the same vision and love to help kids. I feel very
fortunate to now work in an environment that has become part of my spirit
and the person I am. |
