Events are held throughout the year for youth in our programs and other foster youth throughout Los Angeles. Check this section out to see what's been happening at UFC and what events are coming up.
Past Events
UCLA Campus Visit + Tour
Over 35 College Readiness students were greeted by volunteers from the Bruin Guardian Scholars student group and received key information on steps to take to get access to UCLA and other top tier universities. In addition to taking a tour of the campus, students heard from a student panel of former foster youth currently attending UCLA. The questions addressed throughout the panel included elements of campus life, academics and rigor, as well as dorm life.

Grand Opening of The Palace
February 22, 2012 - The Palace, Long Beach
Please join UFC, LINC Housing, the City of Long Beach, and The Long Beach Housing Development Company to celebrate the grand opening of The Palace Apartments - a historic hotel in Long Beach converted into brand new apartments for former foster youth in UFC's Pathways Program.
Celebration Graduation
June 7, 2012 - Walt Disney Concert Hall
This 23rd annual event honors the academic achievements of foster youth.
For Los Angeles high school seniors with a GPA of 2.8 and above and plans to attend college or trade school in the fall.
College Within Reach
September 29, 2012 - USC
13th annual college preparatory event
UFC has partnered again with the USC School of Social Work to help foster youth get on the path to college. Open to 6-12 grade students living in foster care or emancipated foster youth, as well as caregivers and social workers.
