Foster Youth Scholarships
Aaron Ruben Scholarship Fund
The scholarship is administered by Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
Deadline: June
3 or 4 awards between $1,500-$3,000
Eligibility: 1) High school senior, 2) Enrolling in vocational school, college or university, 3) A current or former dependent of LA County Court

Celebration
Participants become eligible for a number of scholarships by attending the Celebration graduation event sponsored by LA County DCFS and UFC.
Deadline: End of February
Eligibility: 1) Graduating with a 2.8 or higher GPA, 2) Plan to attend college or trade school

Chafee Grant Program
$5,000 renewable award for former/current foster youth towards vocational/college expenses
Eligibility: 1) Enrolled in Title IV vocational school or college, 2) Enrolled at least half-time, 3) Course of study should be at least a 1-year pgm, 4) Maintain "satisfactory academic progress"

Change a Life Foundation
Deadline: March 18
Non-renewable scholarship for up to $5,000
Eligibility: 1) Foster youth and former foster youth that are graduating seniors with a 2.75 GPA or better, and 1350 SAT score or better 2) planning to attend a 4-year school (transfer students with a 2.5 GPA or better may apply), 3) are from California

Darko Rapotez Memorial College Scholarship Fund For Aged Out Foster Youth
Deadline:
Up to $5,000 to $10,000 per year, or as much as the fund will allow
Eligibility: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and need.

Foster Care to Success
OFA administers several scholarships including: Foster Students Education Foundation, Casey Family Scholars, and Tangles Hearts.
Deadline: March
Scholarships range in value from $5,000 to $10,000
Eligibility: 1) Foster care or ward court for at least 1 yr. by 18th b-day, 2) Under age of 25 by March 31 of the year they apply,
3) Enrolled in or have applied to college or post-secondary training program

Friends of Foster Children
Deadline: Early to mid-March
FOFC offers scholarships between $500 and $1,000
Eligibility: 1) current or emancipated foster youth 2) continuing their education beyond high school

Guardian Scholars Program
Full-tuition to a variety of colleges throughout California
Eligibility: 1) Plan to apply to one of the listed schools, 2) Ages 17-23, 3) Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (if transfer student), 4) Qualify for "Independent Student Status" (under federal financial aid guidelines), 5) Be a California resident

National Foster Parent Association Scholarship
Deadline: March
$1,000 annual renewal for high school senior
Eligibility: 1) Foster parent/biological parent/or guardian is a member of NFPA, 2) Applied to college, university or vocational school

Renaissance Scholars

Covers unmet financial need for Cal Poly Pomona
Eligibility: 1) Meet eligibility requirements for admissions to Cal Poly Pomona, 2) Be an emancipated foster youth, 3) High school senior

Referrals accepted July - January each year
$3,000 per year for up to 5 yrs. for high school seniors and AA transfer students
