Jasmine Griffis

Jasmine Griffis-Avilez joined United Friends of the Children in 2018 and became the Director of Housing in 2020. She oversees Pathways housing program direct practice work and property management. Previously, she held the positions of Community Manager (supporting East and South Los Angeles program residents and advocacy counselors) and Impact Manager (supporting intake, aftercare services and property management). Before joining United Friends of the Children, she was the Program Supervisor at the Child Care Resource Center and the Foster Family and Adoption Supervisor for Children’s Way, California Institute of Health and Social Services. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, master’s degree in human services and is currently pursuing her doctorate in human services (specialization in leadership and organizational management). Ms. Griffis-Avilez’s professional career includes nearly 15 years’ experience working within the nonprofit sector.
