According to JBAY, the University of Chicago has released an issue brief highlighting the disproportionately higher rates of homelessness and housing instability among youth of color, with the COVID-19 pandemic amplifying these pre-existing economic and housing disparities. The brief offered recommendations to tackle these issues, which include elevating black and hispanic youth voices to co-create new services and programs and developing new outreach programs tailored to young people’s fluid housing arrangements.
