Despite facing many obstacles, Julisa, a dedicated, kind, and passionate young woman in our Scholars program, is on her way to fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. Currently, she is at Riverside City College but will be transferring to CSU Fullerton to complete their RN Program. Earlier in her journey, Julisa had to make the difficult decision to pause her educational pursuits to take care of her son and his health challenges, which affected her eligibility for financial aid. But Julisa persevered in the face of these setbacks. She’s persisted with her studies and her UFC counselor continues to support her in accessing resources to secure a better future for herself and her son.
