We’re so proud of our UFC Scholars student Stacey, who recently graduated from Los Angeles City College with an Associate Degree in Social Behavior and hopes to become a police officer.
Stacey overcame many challenges in her journey to success. She did not have her driver’s license, which acted as a barrier in her application processes. She also lost her job during the pandemic, which affected her ability to pay rent. Then, when she secured another job, she was required to work late hours, which impacted her access to educational support for a math class she needed to pass to graduate. Stacey’s counselor helped secure emergency financial assistance for rent and bills, a private math tutor that could work around Stacey’s new work schedule, and even driver’s training for her license. UFC has been happy to support Stacey through the ups and downs, and we are thrilled to see all her hard work and dedication pay off. Congrats, Stacey!
