Jhamasa was born in Orange, California April 24, 1990. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA, and spent most of her childhood in care. She has many siblings (biological + foster) and considers herself a part of a large community that is seen as family. She received her B.A. in Entrepreneurship from Jackson State University in 2013. She earned her MSW from the University of Southern California in 2021. Jhamasa is a United Friends of the Children alum and has been a NextGen Board member since its inception.
