Programs Update
Wednesday, July 28th, 2021

Recently, as part of the Pathways life skills program, we were excited to welcome a local gardener who encouraged youth to get involved with their local community garden as a way to improve overall wellness and healthy habits by growing and cooking their own food. They also learned about the power that community gardening has to connect with community members, continue ancestral traditions, and pave the way for their own legacies.

In addition, a Pathways alum engaged a group in another life skills workshop to offer assistance and guidance with filing taxes and accessing the “Golden State Stimulus” financial relief support. Lastly, the Community Health Initiative (CHI) shared information with residents about enrolling for health insurance and offered assistance to ensure they are receiving all the benefits they are eligible for as foster youth.
