A #CollegeWithCare gift helped Sherrie turn setbacks into a stepping stone. 💙

In high school, Sherrie felt defeated watching her classmates head to their dream universities while she wasn’t academically eligible. But she didn’t give up. She chose the transfer path and poured her energy into Los Angeles Southwest College, where she became a competitive applicant for UCLA.

The transition to UCLA brought new challenges: housing uncertainty, financial aid barriers, and intense academic expectations. But Sherrie faced it all with persistence and the support of her community.

In December 2023, Sherrie proudly graduated from UCLA with honors, earning a degree in Education and Social Transformation.

Her journey is proof that with resilience and the right support system, foster youth can overcome obstacles and thrive.
