United Friends of the Children announced today that Jamie Sullivan will serve as Chief Development Officer for the organization. Sullivan recently served as Vice President of External Affairs at the Cleveland Food Bank where she oversaw a staff of 25 who focused on fund development, communications, volunteer services, advocacy, and community relations. In her role, she was responsible for raising over $12 million annually in private donations.
“As United Friends continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of thousands of current and former foster youth in Los Angeles County, it’s critical to have a development executive with an entrepreneurial spirit, fundraising know-how and a successful track record of raising money for a high-functioning organization – Jamie Sullivan embodies all of that and much more.” said Dr. Kara Allen Soldati, president and chief executive officer of United Friends of the Children.
No stranger to advocating for children in vulnerable populations, Sullivan was director of a mentoring program at Sojourners Care Network, where she matched AmeriCorps members with foster youth; managed an after-school program; and ran a tutoring company focused on at-risk children. Sullivan earned Masters of Education and Bachelor of Science degrees from Ohio University.
